The aim of the event was to provide an opportunity for Hungarian adults in Auckland and the surrounding area to have fun, as most of the activities are family or children's activities. I think that the number of people who attended the event showed the need for similar initiatives, as even on the day of the pub quiz the phones were ringing off the hook, and the number of participating teams kept growing.
In total, six teams of 4-5 people competed to answer the 40 questions. Among the topics were current affairs from around the world, but also the more "usual" questions about art, sports, films and celebrities. But we also tried to put a smile on everyone's face, so we asked the trickier questions; imagine the faces in the Teletubbies line-up! The winning team - the Picklez, made up of the youngest members - ended the event with a champagne to win, but all teams walked away with certificates.
I hope to have another evening like this before I go home, and I will look back on these experiences with fond memories!
