October 2026 marks the 70th anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. To mark the occasion, the Auckland Hungarian Club is hosting a special film screening — a chance to honour that history together, and to share it with the wider Auckland community.
Children of Glory (Szabadság, szerelem) is a 2006 Hungarian drama set during the 1956 Revolution. It weaves together the true story of Hungary's water polo team at the Melbourne Olympics with a young couple's love story unfolding against the backdrop of the uprising. The film is in Hungarian with English subtitles.
